Imagine a private paradise cradled between
forested hills and a long sweep of a 3 km long, untouched, pristine
beach, washed by the South China Sea. Find your very own Shangri-La here
at the Rasa Ria Resort, set on Pantai Dalit beach and surrounded by 400
acres of lush tropical vegetation including a unique nature reserve.
Here you will meet Sabah's icon, the orangutan, amidst a remarkable
array of indigenous flora and fauna. Surprising encounters with
hornbills gliding right overhead, peacocks displaying during breakfast,
a bear cat greeting you from a tree or the occasional free-roaming
rabbit, iguana or squirrel crossing your path are all part of the magic
of this remarkable resort .
The many options for relaxation include the magnificent Spa at Dalit
Bay, a wide range of water sports, Rasa Ria's own catamarans for cruises
and deep sea fishing, a challenging 18-hole championship golf course,
ATV safaris, tennis, horse riding, a fitness centre and, of course, a
fun-filled Kids' Club to care for younger visitors.
Personal
Note: Do not choose this hotel because of the
Orang Utans. West Coast of Sabah has for long time no habitats left for
Orang-Utans. That is indeed a sad story, but therefore it is not
necessary to have them near a Hotel in a small reservation area with
ample big tropical trees . The only reason the animals are kept there is
to show them off for the 5 star hotel visitors. Please, see our
real nature beauty in the Sepilok Rehabilitation Centre in Sandakan and
go on excursion to the Kinabatangan river, to have the opportunity to
see a wild Orang Utan when you are lucky.
Rasa Ria is a very nice resort, but not because of the animals. Better
go and see them in your own zoo.
